The Local History Library offers an extensive range of resources for anyone researching local or family history.

Our collections include a large selection of Tithe and Ordnance Survey maps, along with books covering Glamorgan, as well as indexes to Parish Registers and Monumental Inscriptions compiled by the Glamorgan Family History Society. You’ll also find historic photographs, newspapers, and trade directories.

As part of our ongoing Glamorgan Gazette Indexing Project, volunteers are transcribing Births, Marriages, and Deaths published in the Glamorgan Gazette. These indexes can be accessed below.

We provide free access to Ancestry and Find My Past, making it easier to explore and build your family tree. Booking your visit in advance is recommended. To arrange a session, please call 01656 733269 (extension 1405) or email history@awen-wales.com.
