I made time for myself for two hours and wasn’t mum, or wife – just me.
A powerful reminder of why creative spaces matter, from one of the participants of the Metamorphosis project at the celebration event held at Y Muni, Pontypridd last week (Friday 10 July).
Bringing together women of all ages and backgrounds, the project created an opportunity to connect, reflect and share experiences through art, music, poetry and writing. The result was a moving celebration of creativity, womanhood and community.
Funded by The National Lottery Awards for All programme, the project took place across six local arts and theatre venues: The Met in Abertillery, partnered with The Riverfront in Newport; Y Muni in Pontypridd, partnered with Cathays Community Centre in Cardiff; and Maesteg Town Hall, partnered with Elysium in Swansea.
A huge thank you to The National Lottery Awards for All and our partner venues, the project participants, facilitators Tamar Williams, Angharad Jenkins, Amruta Garud, Angharad Lee, Naseem Syed, and Krystal Lowe, videographer Elemchi Nwosu and project manager Emily Garside.
