Hundreds of people gathered in Porthcawl for Awen’s first Seascape Festival, celebrating outdoor creative arts inspired by the sea.

The free, family-friendly event took place on the first weekend of June and featured live music, walkabout performers, interactive family shows, silent discos, a 4 metre-tall puppet and a 18 metre-long inflatable whale.

With three sites for people to enjoy the pop-up performances – Cosy Corner, The Esplanade and John Street Bandstand – the aim of the event was to bring high quality, accessible entertainment to the community while the Grand Pavilion is closed for its multi-million pound redevelopment.

Also, as part of Awen’s commitment to inclusivity, British Sign Language interpretation was included for all live music at Cosy Corner, with sensory access packs and integrated audio description available.
