Think the Summer Reading Challenge is just for younger children? Think again! If you’re aged 12 or over and looking for something fun, rewarding and screen-free to do this summer, our Teen Summer Reading Challenge is the perfect opportunity to discover new stories, explore different genres and build a great reading habit.

The challenge is simple. Sign up at your local library and complete the Road to Reading sheet over the summer. All it takes is 30 minutes of reading each week for 10 weeks to complete the challenge. Whether you love fantasy, graphic novels, thrillers, romance, biographies or non-fiction, every page you read helps you move closer to the finish line.

Feeling ambitious? Why not aim even higher and try reading 10 books over the summer? It’s a great way to challenge yourself, discover new favourites and make the most of the long summer break.

Reading isn’t just enjoyable, it’s also a fantastic way to relax, improve concentration, boost creativity and take a break from screens. With so much of our free time spent online, setting aside a little time each week for a good book can make a real difference.

And there’s a reward waiting for you too. Everyone who completes the Teen Summer Reading Challenge will receive a certificate and a special keyring to celebrate their achievement.

So, whether you’re already a book lover or haven’t picked up a book in a while, why not give it a go? Visit your local library to pick up your Road to Reading sheet.
