Voices of Freedom: Remembrance (Maesteg Town Hall)

Awen Cultural Trust is proud to host a special immersive remembrance event, marking 80 years since the end of the Second World War.

‘Voices of Freedom’ will feature a number of interactive art installations, created by award-winning immersive studio 4Pi Productions. The installations will include local voices; recounting wartime memories and reflecting on the theme of freedom. One of the installations will feature lanterns made by local people in Awen Libraries across Bridgend County Borough.

This is a free and accessible event; there is no need to book, and all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

This ‘Voices of Freedom’ event is part of the ‘Our Freedom – Then and Now’ project, delivered in partnership with Future Arts Centres, Libraries Connected and Open Eye Gallery, supported using public funding by UK Government through Arts Council England.

There is no need to book for this free event, and all ages are welcome, though children are to be accompanied by adults.

Subtitles are available, there is lift access and the auditorium is wheelchair accessible.

Public viewing is available on the below dates and times

Saturday 8th November: 12pm – 5pm
Sunday 9th November: 12pm – 5pm
RELAXED VIEWING – Tuesday 11th November: 10am – 12pm. For the ‘Relaxed Viewing’ we create a relaxed environment, with the lights up, sound down and limited numbers for access.
Tuesday 11th November: 1pm – 5pm
